It’s Christmas once again, and it’s time for a movie. However, why watch the same movies this year? Although I love the classics, like “It’s a Wonderful Life,” and “Charlie Brown Christmas,” why not try something new?
Here’s a list I’ve put together, in no particular order, that you may enjoy:
Christmas Angel – Every year in Olivia Mead’s class, kids get to make out their “Impossible Christmas Wish List.” This year those wishes are coming true. Olivia notices strange things happening in the abandoned house across the street. She sets out to investigate. Is there an angel in town? Starring Della Reese and Kevin Sorbo.
The Christmas Pageant – Vera Parks is a Broadway director who just got fired from her latest job. To make ends meet, she takes a job directing a small town Christmas pageant. Vera discovers her former fiancee recommended her for the job and not only is she outraged but she wants to back out. Over time, as she becomes closer to Jack and his daughter, things start to change. Starring Melissa Gilbert.
The Best Christmas Pageant Ever – The Herdsmen are the dirtiest nastiest kids you could meet. Most in this small town think they should be in jail, but the magic happens when the curtain goes up on their Christmas Pageant. Starring Loretta Swit.
Wobots: A Wobot Christmas – No Christmas list would be complete without an animated feature. Zak is a lonely little orphan boy who hates the holidays. Sent out to return a defective “wobot,” he ends up in Scraptown where the adventure begins. Zak and his new friends have to fight the evil Boggin, save the orphans, and keep Christmas alive. In the process, Zak discovers that what makes you different is also what makes you special.
A Golden Christmas – What could be better than a tale about dogs? One summer long ago a dog brought a boy and a girl together. They fell in puppy love. Now Jessica is grown and widowed and wants to move back into her parents’ old house. They’ve sold it, and the man who bought it is the boy from long ago. Jessica doesn’t want a man in her life; she just wants the house. Now another very special dog and Jessica’s family will try to help her find love. Starring Andrea Roth, Nicolas Brendon, Bruce Davison, Elisa Donovan, Jason London, Alley Mills.
Relax with your family this Christmas season and enjoy yourself. This list of Christmas movies is sure to please, and there’s something for everyone in your family.
